value-pub-of-the-year

In 2013 we were awarded the Value Pub of the Year by the Good Pub Guide

The Good Pub Guide says "Value is vital and dishes that have caught cash-strapped customers attention are ones where that little extra touch turns something relatively ordinary and inexpensive into something special. Enjoyable and friendly with plenty to look at in the bustling bars, The Anchor serves a good number of interesting dishes for under £10"

We are very happy to receive this award and we look forward to celebrating with you over the coming months...

Traditional draught beer has always been at the centre of the Anchor Inn. We are well known for the care that we take with our beers and we stock traditional favourites - Draught Bass, Trelawny Bitter, Butcombe Bitter and we have a guest beer which we change every Thursday.

"Well priced for the area and kept on hand pump in very good condition, the real ales in this popular and friendly pub continue to be quite a draw”  - from the Good Pub Guide website

Cider drinkers are well catered for with a choice of Thatchers Dry & Red, Ashton Press & Still on draught.

Our wine list is well balanced for grape variety, country of origin and price, with the French house wines costing a reasonable £12.95 We keep 20 white and 20 red wines on the list at all times.

Our malt whiskies are very popular, with 80 different brands stocked at any one time.

For drivers and customers who don’t wish to drink, we have a tempting range of soft drinks and the excellent Frobishers fruit juices available.
